Children’s Author Terry Phillips Griffin Brings Eternal Hope to Young Hearts with Debut Book, God’s Wonderful Plan

SUGAR LAND, TX — Long before Terry Phillips Griffin ever put pen to paper, a quiet moment as a five-year-old in Sunday School planted the seeds for her debut children’s book, God’s Wonderful Plan. Now, after more than 30 years of sharing this story with her daughters, grandchildren, and Sunday School classes, Terry is ready to share it with the world.

God’s Wonderful Plan is a beautifully illustrated children’s book designed for readers ages 6 to 12—but its message is one that resonates with all ages. Drawing from the biblical story of creation, rebellion, and redemption, the book explains how sin entered the world and how God’s love and sacrifice through Jesus Christ offer salvation to everyone. It’s a foundational message, told in a way children can understand, and one that Terry believes is too important to overlook.

“This isn’t just a story—it’s the story,” says Griffin. “So many children are ready to hear about God’s love, but too often we assume they’re too young to understand. I remember that feeling as a child. That’s why I wrote this—to make sure no child is left wondering how to find Jesus.”

Over three decades in the making, the book has evolved from a family staple into a soon-to-be-published work with beautifully rendered illustrations that capture the imagination. Behind the scenes, Terry partnered with Book Publishing Professionals in Fort Worth, Texas, and credits her English composition mentor, Ivy, for helping shape the manuscript into its final form.

Although not yet officially released, God’s Wonderful Plan is already drawing praise from early readers. “Friends, family, and even my publishing team have been incredibly encouraging,” Terry shares. “But at the heart of it, this is God’s story—I’m just the messenger.”

Terry’s storytelling blends simplicity with spiritual depth, offering both a learning experience and a heartwarming encounter with God’s love. Her passion for teaching children about faith extends beyond this book, with future projects that may include humorous short stories featuring her grandchildren and other Bible-based narratives for young readers.

The book will be available in hardcover and paperback through Amazon and major retailers of Christian children’s literature.
